Assign contact to a communication matrix.

This endpoint allows you to associate a contact with a specific fund communication matrix, controlling which fund-related communications the contact should receive. Each contact can have multiple communication matrices assigned, enabling granular control over their communication preferences across different funds.

Use this endpoint to:

• Add new communication matrix assignments to a contact
• Update existing communication matrix settings
• Manage fund-specific communication preferences for individual contacts

Important behavior when updating: When updating an existing communication matrix, if all communication types for a fund legal entity are set to "no", the system will automatically unassign that fund legal entity from the contact. This ensures that contacts are only associated with funds where they have at least one active communication preference.

The contact must already exist in the system before you can assign communication matrices to them.

financialData: Defaults to noaccess.

• Controls whether a contact can access financial data and reporting related to an Investment Entity’s investments in a specific Fund Legal Entity.
• Allowed values:
  • view: contact can view financial data for this investment entity.
  • noaccess: contact cannot view financial data for this investment entity.
